๐ About Running of the Bulls 2026
Each morning from July 7 to 14 during Pamplona's San Fermin festival, six fighting bulls and six steers charge through the city's narrow cobblestone streets while daring runners sprint ahead along an 875-meter course to the bullring. The tradition dates to the 14th century, when cattle herders would run with the animals to move them from corrals to the arena. Ernest Hemingway's 1926 novel 'The Sun Also Rises' catapulted the event to international fame. Today about one million visitors flood Pamplona during the nine-day fiesta, which also features processions honoring the city's patron saint, giant papier-mache figures called gigantes, and round-the-clock street celebrations.
